2021 Best in American Living for Single-Family Home and Infill Community: Atlas Urban Homes

Atlas Urban Homes

sold out

Atlas Urban Homes is a new development of 14 single-family homes built in the heart of NoDa. These were designed for busy people who want a house, but don’t want the responsibility of yard maintenance or the shared walls of a townhome. The three-story homes have contemporary styling with mid-century modern and bungalow influences that complement the preserved church building next door, as well as the homes in the neighborhood. Site work began in March of 2019, and construction was complete by October, 2020.

Revolve had a blank slate when presented with the opportunity to rezone and redevelop an old seminary college.

The decision was made to save a gorgeous mid-century modern church sanctuary and repurpose it as coworking space. The church’s Mondrian-inspired stained glass pattern and roofline served as inspiration for the 14-single family “urban homes” that were built on land previously used as parking and obsolete office space. The project also included 4 townhomes, two of which were sold at a discount through HouseCharlotte down payment assistance program to income-restricted buyers.
